Rev's entry.
Sean also wrote something and even though a winner has been chosen, apparently he's forgotten how to post his own entry so he sent it to me.
Here is Rev (Sean)'s vision of hope:

The winner this week is Trish (girl2point0). All the submissions were really really good and it was a tough call!

Hope
I got inspired by all the driving we did recently, so my entry is both long and has some driving in it. I hope you enjoy this little piece of fiction, which I wrote and rewrote in my head before finally getting it typed out.
I would probably change it even more if I had more time.

Hope
Nothing I tried that was familiar satisfied me. So I turned to words and they did. Again, I'm no poet but I submitted something so there!!
------------------------
This need, like air and sun,
and sustenance
entwined within my roots
A dream, my dream.
it colors the eyes
and skin
and words
It feeds guilt
and joy
and action
unsatisfied
It’s so big in this tiny place of me
drowning out indulgence
distracting me from the tale I know
Can you sense it?
Ally, break free with me

Next Subject
OK, since I am the winner the next subject will be: HOPE
Go in any direction you can think of! Can't wait to see what you all come up with.

AND THE WINNER IS...
A quick reminder before I announce this weeks winner. This blog is more about being proactive ABOUT being proactive than any of the weeks "topics." So if you have work you'd like to share (like Geoff's awesome flash sheet) by all means please do.
Andrea!
I think its really awesome and super clean. So now Andrea is going to pick the next topic and the next winner a week from today.

Week 1 Logo
Not even a little of what I had in mind, but I ended up having to rush so no drawing, just all photoshop bullshit, but I did hand letter it. Clearly I started with a Big Daddy Roth idea, just didn't get to laying out the letters well or drawing a character.
I'll do better later.
longest sheet known to man
Submish
Ok, this one is cheating, but I haven't had time for embroidery. I'll do more next time, but I want to get in the habit of posting -something-. This is my logo. It is known as the Omega Needle.
Holy crap!
I totally slacked on this! Kind of pathetic since I'm the "starter" of this whole shebang. Anyways this it two attempts at the same thing. One purely digital the other one scanned in and colored over.
I wish I didn't come up with the ideas for these on Friday night, but let me shut up and post 'em.
This is the purely digital one.
This is the one from my sketchbook, looked better in pencil.

Newbie
So I will preface this by saying I have no art background (clearly!) and this is my first attempt at anything like this so here goes. I offer up two color schemes.

The beginning of the Misery Competition.
Most nights I sit around and draw while watching mindless tv. Last night I while watching the previously mentioned mindless tv and scribbling little doodles I had an idea.
The idea isn't new by any stretch of the imagination. It's simple and there are hundreds of blogs and forums out there who do the same exact thing.
Someone proposes a topic, and then everyone who participates has a week to create whatever is his or her vision of that topic. Painting, photography, drawing, stitching, knitting, writing, dancing (video), etc. You get the point.
You can think of it as an assignment if that makes it easier.
You don't have to do the topic each week but the more people who do it the better.
All I need from you is your email address so I can give you permission to post on the blog. You can either post it below in the comments or email me (Peet and you can find my own blog at: http://peetsketches.blogspot.com) that you'd like to participate.
The first topic is fairly obvious and will be easier for those of us who paint/draw/design than those who write or make video.
Topic for week 1 is to make a: LOGO
*IMPORTANT EDIT*
The week runs Sunday to Saturday, or really 'til Sunday when I post the next topic/assignment.
Also the logo or banner can be for this blog (PLEASE!) but if you need to make a logo or banner for something else and want to use this as an excuse please do!
